Basis of the LIEBHERR LC 82 is the statically and dynamically rigid machine bed. Its thermally symmetric casting is suitable for both, wet and dry cutting. The table drive has a newly designed backlash-free compound-helical gear train, preloaded by axial displacement of an auxiliary shaft. The hob head contains a maintenance free, highly dynamic AC motor.

Its power is transferred to the cutter spindle through a short gear train. Hob arbour clamping uses the new ISO hollow-shaft system. For gear cutting machines, this CNC is augmented with several extra functions (e.g. the synchronization of tool and workpiece rotation). With Siemens digital drives, this CNC forms a fully compatible and highly reliable unit.
